SINGAPORE (July 7): Commodities firm Noble Group is in full retreat on Thursday, falling 7.3% to 19.4 cents at 11.37 am after surging on Tuesday before the public holiday in Singapore on Wednesday.
One likely explanation for the volatility is short covering. Noble has been one of Asia's most shorted stocks in the last year or so as it battles downgrades in ratings and tries to shore up its balance sheet.
